Shooting in Surrey leaves one man dead – Victim identified

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is requesting public assistance to further its investigation into the shooting death of a man in Surrey, B.C.
Surrey: On April 23, 2019 at about 3:18 p.m., the Surrey RCMP received a call of a man with gunshot wounds lying on the street in the 13300-block of 114 Avenue. The victim was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries. IHIT was called in to take conduct of the investigation.
IHIT is working closely with its partners from the Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit, the Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.
To further the ongoing homicide investigation, IHIT is confirming that 32-year-old Khan Micheal Bourne of Sechelt was the victim of homicide. Mr. Bourne was known to police.
A vehicle fled the scene immediately after the shooting and investigators are now canvassing the neighbourhood for witnesses and video surveillance footage. Anyone with dash cam video and/or cell phone video who was in the area of the shooting yesterday afternoon is asked to contact IHIT immediately.
It is still early in the investigation but we believe Mr. Bourne was targeted for murder, says Corporal Frank Jang of IHIT.
