Second person charged in connection with Bhavkiran Dhesi homicide

A woman has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder in connection with the 2017 homicide of Bhavkiran Dhesi in Surrey.

On August 2, 2017, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the homicide investigation of 19-year-old Bhavkiran Dhesi after her body was discovered in a burnt vehicle in the 18700-block of 24 Avenue in Surrey, B.C.

Following the arrest and second degree murder charge against 21-year-old Harjot Deo on May 10, 2019, the B.C. Prosecution Service approved a charge of accessory after the fact to murder against 53-year-old Manjit Kaur Deo with respect to Bhavkiran’s death.

On May 17, 2019, Ms. Deo was arrested and will appear in court on May 23, 21019.

Bhavkiran’s homicide investigation is still not over, says Corporal Frank Jang of IHIT. Our detectives continue to actively pursue leads in the case.
